AE 497G/897G REFLECTION

The Architectural Engineering Senior Thesis Project was the most challenging part of the AE curriculum at The Pennsylvania State University. The project presented students with real world engineering problems and issues that do not necessarily come up in the classroom. This drove students to effectively use good engineering judgement, along with the skills learned in AE courses. Although it was a challenging task, completing the Senior Thesis Project was hugely beneficial in helping me develop into a structural engineer. It also allowed me the opportunity to interact and work with other students, faculty, and industry professionals. All in all, the project was an appropriate culmination to my career as an Architectural Engineering student.

CPEP DISCUSSION BOARD REFLECTION

The CPEP Discussion Board provided each student with the opportunity to interact with professionals from many engineering disciplines. This proved to be an invaluable resource throughout the course of the project. Although the AE curriculum provides many tools to help students, some issues are constantly changing and only experience in the engineering field can remedy them. The mentors provided a valuable source of this type of information.
