Personal Reflection

This nine month long AE Senior Thesis project provided me with an invaluable learning experience. Senior Thesis has given me the opportunity to apply the knowledge and theories that I have learned throughout the past four years of Architectural Engineering coursework to a real world project. It was also benefitial to gain experience using the latest codes and standards, as well as experience with the decision making process and engineering judgement issues associated with the everyday life of a structural engineer. The course has allowed me to effectively communicate with fellow students, professors, and professionals within the building industry in a professional setting. Even though not all thesis goals were able to be accomplished, overall, I feel that this senior thesis project was a great success because I feel that it has prepared me for a very successful career.

CPEP Reflection

The Senior Thesis E-Portfolio was a great way to document the progress of my project throughout the past nine months. Not only is it a great resource to showcase a student's work for future employers, but it is a great way to communicate technical information with design professionals throughout the the course of the project. Even though I was unable to post any technical information about the Clarendon Center - South Block project due to its confidential nature, I still feel that creating and maintaining this website has given me the opportunity to learn the in's and out's of building a website.
