Final Report

This report discusses the redesign of Heilos Plaza's structural system from ordinary concrete moment frames to concentrically braced steel frames. As part of the analysis, both architectural and construction management considerations are discussed. For MAE considerations, several tasks were undertaken:

(1) Computer Modeling of Building Structures course used to ensure accurate computer models;

(2) Earthquake Resistant Design of Buildings principles applied to steel brace design;

(3) Design of Steel Connections knowledge utilized to design brace-to-column-to-beam connection.
