Sustainability Features
HD Woodson High School is designed to be LEED Certified Gold Level, under the United States Green Building Rating System for New Schools.  LEED for schools 2007 and LEED Version 2.2 are the Versions certification will be confirmed under.  Currently a Projected 79 points are going to be claimed.

A Green Roof will be installed to cover 45% of the total roof area.  A total of 45,502 sf will drain to green roof out of the 101,406 total sf of roof area.  The plantings will consist of 24 different species. 

Also to reduce Storm Water Pollution Runoff, a BaySaver System will be utilized.  This system employs a two manhole filtration device.  It allows large debris and sediment to remain on site for periodic cleaning.  This will allow the Storm Water Leaving the site to be as contaminant free as possible.
