COURSE REFLECTION

In my opinion, AE Senior Thesis proved to be one of the most beneficial experiences during my college duration. During the fall semester of the process (AE 481W), the tasks given allowed for fundamentals in analyzing a project to gather critical details relating to building systems, existing conditions, and project processes to be performed.

These tasks allowed myself to construct four research studies to be performed during the spring semester (AE 482). During this semester, my time management skills and self guidance were tested due to the class having no structured deadlines leading up to the final report submission; which proved to be a concrete learning experience in realizing how strong and responsible my work ethics became over the years.

Overall the past year provided myself an opportunity to apply the knowledge gathered over the past five years to a situation that could happen in the outside world.

CPEP REFLECTION

During the early stages of AE 481W, I established that the Dreamweaver software, used for the creation of websites, was very "non-user friendly" and would procrastinate on CPEP assignments until the last moment. As the course continued on, I slowly learned the subtle tricks in creating a moderate website to showcase my work over the duration of AE Senior Thesis.

Overall the CPEP is a very valuable tool in today's eco-friendly attitude. The CPEP allows for the students to submit their work throughout both the fall and spring semester without the need of printing several hundred pages of reports that would have a high chance of entering the trash can after grading. I also enjoy the idea of the student's CPEPs to be on record for several years allowing industry professionals, AE faculty, and students to access them; even though the work may be moderate at times, there is a vast majority of knowledge within those pages.
