Student Biography

Brad Oliver is currently a fifth year Penn State student. He will graduate in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a focus in structures. Brad passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in April 2011 and will receive his EIT certificate upon graduation.

Throughout his five years at Penn State, Brad has been very active. He is the secretary of Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI-PSU) which is a multi-discipline club organized to promote earthquake awareness at Penn State. Brad is also a mentor member of the Student Society of Architectural Engineers (SSAE) which is a student run organization geared towards passing knowledge from one class to another. Outside of the classroom, Brad also participates in intramural football, hockey and softball.

Brad has held two summer internship positions. The first was with Still Waters, a consulting firm, where he designed interactive screens for clients and assisted in combining instrumentation and process control into one system. Brad's most recent experience was with CADnetics, a 2D/3D technical services firm. His responsibilities included surveying residential and commercial buildings with lasers and creating accurate floor plans based on those measurements. He also gained valuable BIM experience assisting in creating Revit MEP models and correcting clashes.

Now that Brad has had a taste of real life, he is eagerly awaiting graduation when he can obtain a full time position to gain experience and grow in the AE industry. To view a copy of his resume click here.
