Final Report

Final Report

After a thorough structural investigation in the previous semester, the Dormitory was investigated for the ramifications of increased winds loads due to global warming.  By moving the Dormitory to Florida to represent a likely wind load increase over the next 100 years, the Dormitory was investigated as both a wood based structure and a steel framed structure.

In addition, a façade breadth was conducted to properly design a facade for impact loadings and to control heat flow in the warmer climate.  Besides the façade breadth, an electrical breadth looking at a photovoltaic system with battery backup for emergency power was investigated.
