Tech 1

Technical assignment one is an analysis of the existing conditions with an in depth overview of the different building systems and the factors for which the project will be delivered. This Turner Thesis project is based on an Interior renovation for Oticon, Inc. This building can be categorized as a mixed use space with 163,500 gross square feet for the creation, repairing, storing and sales of hearing aids.

Tech 2

Technical assignment two is a cost and schedule based analysis for the Oticon Interior renovation. For this investigation, a detailed project schedule, data communications system estimate, general conditions estimate, LEED evaluation, and BIM implementation assessment were conducted to demonstrate the effect of key aspects on design.

Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Robert Hines. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing code references, assumptions, requirements, & methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

Tech 3

Technical assignment three is dedicated to the start of producing topics for thesis research.  Part of the analysis concentrated on the interview with the project engineer and superintendent. However, the rest was based on the PACE Roundtable and what was learned in the breakout sessions. These breakout sessions were created to familiarize students with the industry and some possible research topics. Additionally, the goal for this investigation is to show some of the possible problematic areas for the Oticon Interior Renovation.
