News and Updates

Adam Brown is in his 5th year at The Pennsylvania State University studying Architectural Engineering in the Mechanical Option. He will receive his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering in May of 2014.

Over the past three summers Adam has interned at two companies gaining valuable knowledge about business and design practices in the building industry. For two summers he interned at Allen and Shariff Engineering where he was introduced to BIM. As a BIM Assistant for the mechanicals he helped from sizing the duct to doing clash detections with other disciplines. In his final summer before the 5th year he interned with Jacobs. There he delved farther into BIM and the practices of mechanical design. Frequently in coordination meetings he learned how budgets were affected by design changes and dealing with overseas customers.

After school activites include exercising and reading along with helping out in many clubs. Adam is an active member of student organizations such as SSAE and ASHRAE. Each of these is geared towards his major and a great source for networking. Also he is in Ohana which is a Penn State THON organization that contributes money towards children with cancer.
