Thesis Reflection

Penn State Architectural Engineering Senior Thesis involved a year-long research project that required an analysis of the construction process as well as the of the Silverado Senior Living facility. The first half of the course consisted of several technical analyses of the building systems and project lifecycle. A proposal was then developed to examine four design and construction topics as well as two breadths. In the spring semester, students were required to determine the implications of utilizing alternative solutions and compile the results into a final report and presentation.  Overall, senior thesis taught me how to logically identify a problem and evaluate potential solutions by creating and effectively managing my own work schedule.

CPEP Reflection

The Capstone E-Portfolio was an effective means for students to show how they progressed through senior thesis. With an increasing focus on technology and communication thorugh electronic means, creating and managing a website was beneficial to all students.
