Proposal

Lighting
New lighting deisgn is developed for four spaces in the building: lobby, conference room, open office and building facade. The ideas of the concept is developed from the profession of the company which is dedicating to develope sustainable energy and buildign material. The design concept for the spaces are centered on clean, intelligent and collaborative lighting design. This concept is implemented by using majority of linear fixutres to create a modern look.

Electrical

Redesign of the branch circuit to implement the new design solution. On top of that, in order to respond the intelligent lighting solution, automatic lighting control system will be included in the eletrical system design. Solar photovoltaic panels will be install in the building as part of the power supply.

Architecture
In response of some of the new lighting design solutions, some architecture design need to be adjusted. In order to create a better working environment in the open office area, and potentially bring in more daylighting into the space to create a greener energy solution, an open ceiling to the upper level will be put into the space. This will create a spacious feeling in to the office and also gives a lot more potential for more lighting design solution.

Structural
With a significant alteration of the interior architecure in the building that affect three floors. A structure analysis is necessary to be studied in order to ensure the feasibility of the architecture changes. Openning the center bayrequires resizing the beams that support the sturecture system within the three floors.

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering. For an explanation of this capstone design course and its requirements click here.
Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Xiaoyin (Laura) Wu. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
