Accelerated Development Program – Operations Track

What do you do in your current position? Currently, in my first rotation, I am working as a process engineer. I provide engineering support to the assembly processes in the plant. I have also had the opportunity to work on continuous improvement projects in various areas of the manufacturing plant.

How has your PSU engineering education/experiences helped to get you where you are today? The reputation of the PSU engineering program has helped open many doors for me. Many companies come to recruit at Penn State because of the quality of education PSU engineering students receive. I got my co-op with Ingersoll Rand because they specifically come to recruit Penn State engineers every year. This co-op experience led the way to a full-time job in one of their rotational development programs.

How has your experience as an EA impacted your professional life so far? Being an Engineering Ambassador is all about being able to find our niche in the College of Engineering. We are constantly adapting and changing to better fit the needs of the university. As well as being able to adapt and speak in front of different audiences confidently. Being in a rotational program where I am expected to make an impact immediately in a brand new environment has been a lot easier because of my experiences as an Engineering Ambassador. And it is something that will continue to help me for the rest of my career.
