What do you do in your current position? I work in a Microbial Value Stream that cultures yeast for the production of proteins. These proteins are then purified and used in a once-weekly diabetes medication. The bioreactors in the suite are 10,000L and span three floors! I've also taken on the redesign of many presentations to fit the Assertion Evidence model.

How has your PSU engineering education/experiences helped to get you where you are today? Studying ChE allowed me to land an internship after my sophomore year. This opportunity solidified my education and gave me the real-life experience necessary for working full time. Having this technical background is great because it is so diverse- the engineering thought process can be applied in many different departments (especially at GSK) so I have many opportunities moving forward.

How has your experience as an EA impacted your professional life so far? Coming from EA, and learning the techniques of good communication and presentation skills, I have been able to recreate many training presentations at GSK. Once that door was opened, other departments and coworkers have come to me for help in creating effective presentations for a variety of purposes and audiences. I've also been able to work with site leadership in translating the EA principles to our building! It's great that my foundation is in Engineering, but my EA skills are what make me unique!
