Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I choose Penn State because of all the opportunities the university provides. When picking a college I wasn’t sure what kind of engineering I wanted to major in and Penn State had a highly respected engineering program with a large variety of majors. Going to a big school like Penn State provided opportunities to study abroad, join clubs, and go to large sporting events like football.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? My best experience as an engineering student has been accepting two internships with LORD Corporation. I got an internship after my freshman year in Human Resources. Then following my sophomore year I moved into a more technical role where I assisted in reverse engineering helicopter parts. I gained a lot of experience and was able to use the information I learned in the classroom and apply it to the real world.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Try something new! Penn State has a club for everything and there are so many opportunities to try something different and branch out. Take advantage of all that Penn State has to offer, especially in your first year.

What do you plan to do after graduation? After graduation, I plan to enter the aerospace or medical industry as a product engineer.

What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? Joining the Club Ultimate Frisbee team has been one of my best decisions since coming to Penn State. I have made some of my best friends through the club and found a new sport that I love. Through ultimate frisbee, I have volunteered for THON, which is an incredible experience and hands down my favorite weekend at Penn State.
