Why did you choose to come to Penn State? My best friend suggested me to apply Penn State with her together, so I said yes without any consideration and preparation. Luckily, I got accepted. I really appreciated her suggestion, because when the first time I got here, I loved it. Not only the great Penn State Community, but also the awesome engineering program give me a feeling that I would like to spend the most valuable 4 years here without regret.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? My best memory as an engineering student was getting my co-op experience with Volvo Group Trucks. I was able to apply I've learned from school to real life.It was very rewarding to be able to work on projects that can have a major impact for the industry and the environment. I also had the opportunity to participate in Volvo Ocean race with some other engineering ambassadors.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? First, definitely get involved. Join clubs that you are interested in. You will meet new people and have fun. Second, mange your time wisely so that you won’t cram for tests and homework. Also, there are so many resources available here at Penn State to help you succeed, such as free tutoring offered by Penn State Learning, welding and machining training at Penn State Learning Factory, and help from career center etc. Be sure to take advantage of these valuable resources when you need them.

What do you plan to do after graduation? After graduation, I hope to work for an engineering company that allows me to develop my professional skills and values creativity, diversity and sustainability.

What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? The best experience outside of engineering at Penn State would be spending time in Centre County Paw. The organization provides homes for many kittens and puppies that need to be taken care of. Taking them for a walk, talking to them and feeding them is the most enjoyable thing to do. It is only 4 miles away from campus, so just spending a couple of hours there makes my day.
