Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I chose to come to Penn State because of the amazing Engineering Program, the sense of unity you feel as a member of one of the largest universities in the world and the diverse range of activities and clubs you can get involved in.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? My second semester at Penn State I visited Washington, DC and got to talk to Congressmen and Senators about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). We discussed the importance that STEM plays in middle and high school and the influence that it has been in our everyday lives. I got some great firsthand experience with speaking in front of people and communicating my knowledge of Penn State’s engineering program.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Classes are extremely important and should definitely be the focus of your time at Penn State. But that being said, take the time to explore the amazing opportunities that Penn State has to offer. There are so many different clubs, sports and activities that you can get involved with and it’s never too early to start exploring!

What do you plan to do after graduation? I hope to find a job in Web Development, Software Development or Network Security.

What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? Being about of The Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) has been the greatest decision I have made here at Penn State. I get to use my knowledge and love of computers to help a cause that is so important. I have made some of the best friends through THON and I am grateful for everything that I have gained from being involved in the largest student run philanthropy in the world. FTK!
