Why did you choose to come to Penn State? When I was looking at colleges, I knew I would apply to Penn State because everyone I knew who went there loved it. Once I got in and toured the school, the main separating factor was the sense of community and pride shared by the students on campus. Everyone really wanted to be there and loved their school, which was different than the other schools I had visited. Furthermore, it had some of the best programs and I knew a Penn State education would take me far.
What has been your best memory as an engineering student? The end of every finals week! During the week you feel like you aren't ever going to get to the end, but once you do you feel so accomplished and relieved. You can look back at the semester and see all the work you have done and all that you have learned.
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? I would tell a first year student to stick with it and don't give up. It may be tough at first, but you will adjust eventually. Also, don't let other students freak you out about how much they studied or how much work they did. Everyone is different and some people study more or less than others. Just do what you have to do to be prepared.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I don't actually know what I want to do after school. I think probably go straight into industry but I haven't made up my mind on anything.
What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? I would say my best experience would be meeting all of the great people that I have become friends with over the last two years at PSU.
