Why did you choose to come to Penn State? Between the tradition, academic prestige, and social activity, Penn State offers everything I wanted for my college experience. I knew that the engineering program was recognized around the world, and that the connections a Penn State degree would offer me would be great come graduation. I also wanted to be involved in my school, and Penn State offers so many different ways to meet people and really participate in events/activities you enjoy doing.
What has been your best memory as an engineering student? My co-op/internship!! I had four extremely different experiences with Dow & ExxonMobil in four different locations. I got to see what all the hard work in obtaining an engineering degree goes to in the end and the great payoff. It was exciting being in a totally different geographic area and meeting new people not only at work but around my location as well.
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Network as much as you can, and if you are offered an internship/co-op be open to a location change and trying various roles.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I would like to go straight into industry and try to obtain a sales & marketing or business consulting full time position for a major oil & gas or chemical company.
What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? While I was on co-op, I had the opportunity to do a lot of leisure traveling in the south. The gulf coast feels like my second home now.
