Why did you choose to come to Penn State? Penn State not only has a great engineering program, but one of the best Women in Engineering programs in the country. The numerous opportunities offered by both were too great for me to pass up. Also, I fell in love with the campus and school spirit.
What has been your best memory as an engineering student? WEP Wednesdays are the best days of the month. This is when the women engineers get together for dinner and a panel discussion on any variety of topics, from study tips, to internships, to career fairs and interviews. I get to spend time with awesome women engineers who inspire me to keep working hard for my degree while getting great professional advice.
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? After you get your homework done, join a club....or two, or three! You'll get to know people in all majors, not just engineers, and you'll have fun doing something you love.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I still have a while before my graduation, but right now, I want to pursue a career in the energy or environmental field.
What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? Getting involved in Springfield THON, a special interest organization that raises money for the Penn State Dance MaraTHON, has been my best experience so far. Through this organization, I have met my best friends and been able to support a cause I truly believe in.
