Why did you choose to come to Penn State? Not only does Penn State have an absolute fantastic mechanical engineering program, it also is the world's most philanthropic school. Lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it is definitely something close to my heart and knowing that Penn State gives back a HUGE amount definitely made my choice of schools much easier.
What has been your best memory as an engineering student? Last fall, after I handed in my differential equations final, my professor took my exam and graded it in front of the people that were still in the final exam room. It was extremely nerve racking when he made a comment, "Well that's just wrong." Luckily, I got an A in the class but I will never ever forget about that.
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Definitely do not be afraid to ask for help. Most people are terrified of asking questions or asking for help when they need it. However, if you do not ask for immediate help, you can fall really far behind in your work making things much more difficult on yourself.
What do you plan to do after graduation? Go into industry.
What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? For the last two years, I have organized trips over spring break where a group of students, including myself, will help reconstruct homes for people that do not have the means to buy a house the normal way. It is extremely emotional and amazing when you get to meet the people whose homes you are working on. Honestly, it was epic!
