Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I chose Penn State for the opportunities and reputation. I wanted to go to a school that had both Mechanical Engineering and Meteorology, which is rare, and have other options as well.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? EMy best memories have to be from WEPO (the Women in Engineering Orientation). I love meeting all of the new freshman women engineers, it is so inspiring to see how talented, smart, and strong these women are in a field that is dominated by men.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? DO NOT GIVE UP! Though that is cliche, the work gets challenging and abundant. I have been in tears in frustration at the work, or at a bad test grade. You are here to learn, no one expects perfection from you. Take advantage of all the excellent tutoring and extra help you can get, it will only make you smarter!

What do you plan to do after graduation? I will be a junior this year and I am still not 100% sure on what I want my career path to be. I am concentrating on doing well in my academics and enjoying my college life; however, it is always on my mind and I am still on the lookout for the perfect career for me./p>

What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? Currently, for the summer of 2012, I am working at CBS Local News in NYC for weather. I am able to experience what it would be like to be a broadcast meteorologist and what goes on behind the scenes. Being able to have a double major, or minor, I am able to explore different careers and opportunities. By having my second major I have the option in choosing the other entirely or somehow combining the two into one career.
