Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I chose Penn State because of the welcoming atmosphere. I loved that the university itself was so large, but so many students told me how they left that they were a part of a family. The engineering program was also highly recommended to me and all the opportunities that were available to me. How could I say no!
What has been your best memory as an engineering student? It is hard just to pick one, so I will give a few. My major (biological engineering) is pretty small, so we have family dinners once a month. It is really nice to have everyone come together, test our cooking skills and get to know each other.
Another great memory was being a part of the Women Engineering Program, where I was a junior mentor (rover) and I met some of my best friends during that experience.
Being in Engineering Ambassadors having the chance to offer high school students a different view the sciences. That they are fun and interesting and not boring in any way.
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Don't be afraid to make mistakes and ask for help.
What do you plan to do after graduation? After graduation I plan on working for a company that deals with food processing or any type of consumer product industry. Ideally I would be located in a large city.
What has been your best experience outside of engineering at Penn State? Just being at Penn State I always love homecoming week. It is a great time to be at PSU the energy is high and events are so much fun. Everything from the dancers at the talents show to making our float for the parade on Friday night and of course the football game on Saturday with all the alumni back. It does not get much better than that.
