Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations

Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations is the career advising office in the College of Engineering at Penn State, serving all undergraduate and graduate engineering students including those pursuing engineering majors in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (i.e., Materials Science and Engineering and majors within the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering). We provide information to help students write effective résumés, cover letters, and other types of professional correspondence that they will need in their search for co-op, internship, or permanent full-time jobs. We offer tips on professional dress, interviewing, and networking. We help students prepare for the many career fairs and recruiting events that we arrange or promote throughout the academic year. We also encourage them to be active users of eCareer, the online job search system managed within the College of Engineering.

We also work with thousands of employers, including more than 900 individual companies and organizations that recruit engineering students at the University Park campus each year. Beyond the career fairs, recruitment days, and other recruiting events that we organize to help employers make face-to-face connections with students, we also encourage employers to post active positions in eCareer.
