With an innovative curriculum, strong industry partnerships, and outstanding faculty, the Penn State College of Engineering is a national leader in engineering education. The Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations office within the College serves as a comprehensive career development resource for all Penn State engineering students. We also work strategically with our employer partners to increase their visibility and promote their brand at the University and to recruit high-quality students.

Our services for students include:

  • General guidance in technical career exploration and decision-making
  • Personalized assistance with the development of effective job search skills and tools, including résumé and cover letter writing, interviewing, offer assessment, and networking
  • Support for the Engineering Co-op & Internship Program, which helps hundreds of students each year to obtain cooperative education, professional internship, and research experiences with both large and small employers across the country and around the world
  • Promotion of both short-term job opportunities and full-time positions through our eCareer online job posting system, career fairs, and other recruiting events

We support employers by:

  • Offering personalized assistance in building their presence within the College and in developing strategic recruitment plans
  • Connecting them to appropriate engineering faculty and staff with whom they share common research and development interests
  • Providing access to our eCareer engineering job posting system, where they can advertise co-op, internship, and full-time positions
  • Arranging both large- and small-scale recruiting and informational events—including Fall Career Days and spring Engineering Career Week activities—that connect more than 1,000 employers to students in the College of Engineering and other technical colleges each year
  • Assisting with the coordination of interview schedules for on-campus recruiting
