Our Services For Employers
The Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations office is housed within Penn State's College of Engineering, which was ranked 16th overall in the nation in 2012 by U.S. News & World Report for the quality of its undergraduate engineering programs. Our staff work strategically with employers to increase their visibility and promote their brand at the University and to recruit highly-qualified students for domestic and/or international co-op, internship, research, and permanent full-time employment opportunities.
We can offer employers:
- Personalized assistance in building a presence within the College of Engineering
- Access to our eCareer engineering job posting system, where they can advertise co-op, internship, and full-time positions
- Assistance in arranging both large- and small-scale recruiting and informational events, which connect more than 800 employers to students in the College of Engineering and other technical colleges each year
- Help with the coordination of interview schedules for on-campus recruiting
Employers who work with our office experience many benefits, including: year-round access to a pool of talented and highly-motivated engineers-in-training; lower training and recruitment costs—and a higher retention rate—among former co-op/intern participants who become entry-level employees; and ongoing relationships with a network of Penn State students who can serve as goodwill ambassadors for the companies or organizations where they completed their short-term work assignments.
