ChE 350 Process Heat Transfer
Course
Description:
The aim of this course is for you
to gain the competence, confidence, and character to solve a research
problem. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
 |
solve the most essential
“standard problems”. Heat transfer theory is a broad and mathematical
subject. We will focus on the important, well-studied, idealized problems
listed in the Topics section of this syllabus. |
 |
apply techniques from the
standard problems to processes and devices. You will examine process
heat exchangers, plus everyday applications of heat transfer. |
IMPORTANT: This
course is designed for Independent Learning with no fixed daily time schedule or
meeting location. But it does run with scheduled start and due dates
according to a fixed Course Schedule. Individual class lectures are provided
by On-Demand Streaming Video and supported instructional activities that includes:
 |
weekly quizzes
|
 |
weekly homework assignments |
 |
a proctored mid-term and final exam (you must identify a proctor
during the first week of the course) |
If you are unable to keep pace or complete the course
according to the schedule you must notify the instructor immediately or risk
failing the course.
Please refer to the
Course Syllabus for more detail.
