NucE 403 Advanced Reactor Design

Course Description

Physical principles and computational methods for reactor analysis and design. Multi-group diffusion theory; determination of fast and thermal group constants; cell calculations for heterogeneous core lattices. The Course Project will require students to access PSU Engineering Servers with VPN and SSH software clients. The project will also utilize the PSU couple code NEM/CTF running on PC under Windows environment. You must have access to a Window OS computer to complete the Course Project.

Computer and Technology Requirements:

The course lectures are delivered by Window Streaming Media. Please verify that your computer can play the "On-Demand Video" link provided on the Sample Lesson page.

The course project will utilize the PSU couple code NEM/CTF running on PC under Windows environment. You must have access to a Window OS computer to complete the Course Project. The code is an .exe file and will run on WinXP, Vista, and Win7.

The course project will require students to access PSU Engineering Servers with VPN and SSH software clients.

bullet

The use of Mac OS computers in not supported in this course.
