NucE 420 Radiological Safety

Course Description

The goal of this course is to provide students with an understanding of healthy physics in the areas of radiation protection, regulatory guidelines, and dosimetry. The students will develop an understanding of the interactions of radiation with matter as they apply radiation protection and health effects. The students will then apply these principles to radiation dosimetry and calculate internal and external radiation doses for various exposure scenarios. The student will evaluate the doses received from example scenarios to determine if the does exceed limits in existing regulations. The student will utilize their knowledge of radiation safety to prepare a written report on a health physics subject of their choosing.

For more details see the Course Syllabus.
