TAKE AN INTERNSHIP FOR CREDIT AND GET PAID FOR IT!

The Engineering Cooperative Education Office offers the Engineering Internship Program, an opportunity where students may participate in a work experience related to their field of study. You can combine classroom skills with job training at a company of your choice! The program is open to any student after their first semester at Penn State.

The goal of this program is to help you select a major and perhaps lead to participation in a future co-op.

For the internship program you will:

•Learn resume creation and interview skills
• Enter the workforce as a professional, responsible for specific civil engineering projects
• Gain insight into what civil engineering is about in the "real world"
• Add your internship to your professional resume
• Increase your chances of securing full-time employment after graduation
• Establish strong relationships with others in the field of civil engineering

To begin the program:

•You must have completed one semester at Penn State
• You should attend the Internship Preparatory Seminar (held several times a semester, check E-News or the Engineering Internship Web site for dates!)
• Submit your resume & apply for civil engineering jobs with the help of our office.
• Interview with the companies that you are interested in
• Inform the office when you receive an internship
• Complete the necessary paperwork & reports associated with the program
• Maintain good academic standing
