   Environmental Engineering Minor

Introduction

Penn State's Environmental Engineering minor is an interdisciplinary program administered by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Environmental Engineers protect human populations from the effects of adverse environmental factors, protect the environment from the potential deleterious effects of human populations, and improve environmental quality for public health and well being. Environmental engineering is a broad and varied field. Possible areas of interest include: water supply, sanitary and industrial waste treatment, solid and hazardous waste management, air pollution control, storm water management, and non-point source pollution control.

Currently enrolled students come from many departments within the University (Agricultural and Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Resource Management, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, and Petroleum and Natural Gas).
