CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT

Program Description

The Construction Engineering and Management Program has a long-standing mission to provide sensible educational opportunities to young engineers on topics that they will need to be successful in the early stages of their professional career. The opportunities arise in two areas. The first area of instruction is in the specialty field of project and asset management. The goal of the CEM faculty is to provide education into various topical areas that are fundamental to one’s s ability to organize, plan, and execute an engineered construction project. Instruction is in the topics of estimating, planning, scheduling, ethical decision-making, fundamental principles of site management, cost control, contracts, productivity control, project development, life cycle cost analysis, condition assessment, performance and prediction modeling. The second area of instruction is a technical field of ones own choosing. The goal of the CEM faculty is to assure that each student has sufficient underpinnings in a technical subject area to create an opportunity for successful professional licensure.
