MEMBERS

image003.jpg  Thorsten Wagener. I am an Assistant Professor of Hydrology in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. I studied civil engineering at the University of Siegen, Delft University of Technology and Imperial College London. After spending 2 years as a postdoc at SAHRA (University of Arizona, USA), I joined Penn State in 2004. [thorsten at engr.psu.edu] [CV]

image007.jpg  Katie van Werkhoven. I am a PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  I received my B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Notre Dame in 1997 and my M.S. degree in Hydrology at the University of Arizona in 1999.  After my Master’s, I spent 4 years working as a Water Resources Engineer at Riverside Technology, inc. in Fort Collins, CO and then 2 years working in South Africa in the Flood Management Division of the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry.  I returned to the US and joined the Hydrosystems Group at PSU in Fall 2005.

image009.jpg  Yaoling Bai. I am currently a PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  I majored in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering during my undergraduate and graduate studies at Hohai University. I began my doctoral study at PSU in Fall 2006.

image017.jpg  Rashi Bushan. I am a Graduate student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at PSU. I received my Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, (NIT) Nagpur, India, in June 2006. I began my masters’ study at PSU in Fall 2006.

image021.jpg  Keith Sawicz. I obtained a dual major degree in civil engineering and environmental engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY, and joined Penn State in the Fall of 2007 to pursue a Masters degree for which I investigate the issue of hydrologic similarity.

image024.jpg  Nicole Iacchei. I obtained a B.S. in biology and am currently working towards a B.S. in civil engineering. I am working on understanding the link between hydrology and aquatic ecology.

GROUP ALUMNI

image027.jpg  Suzanne Ciavola. I was an undergraduate honors student at Penn State and graduated with my B.S. in Civil Engineering in August 2007. I was a research assistant on the MOCHA project for the summer of 2007.

image028.jpg  Paul Dornsife. I was a Masters student of Civil and Environmental Engineering and graduated in July 2006. I received my undergraduate degree in Meteorology with a minor in Geographic Information Science in 2001 from the Pennsylvania State University. I spent 3 years at AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania, working as a meteorologist before pursuing my graduate degree. I am now working for O’Brien Engineering Inc., an engineering consultant for hydrology and hydraulics in Dallas, Texas.

image029.jpg  Maitreya Yadav. I graduated from Penn State with a Master of Science degree in Spring 2006, after working for two years as a Research Assistant in the Hydrologic Systems Group. My research included working towards improved predictions in ungauged basins. I received my Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi, India. I am now working for Parsons Brinkerhoff, an international engineering firm, in Baltimore.
