Geoff is a chemical engineer whose research interests lie in the area of small molecule transport in polymers for membrane-based water purification and energy generation applications. Currently, he is working in conjunction with Prof. Mike Hickner to develop improved ion exchange membranes for electrically-driven membrane-based separation technologies.
Geoff earned his PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in August 2012.
Michael Siegert graduated in 2006 from the University of Jena in Germany (biology) and received his PhD in 2011 at the University of Hannover. He research focus is on bioelectrical reduction of carbon dioxide to methane and microbial hydrocarbon degradation. His broader interests are bio-geochemical redox and nutrient cycles.
