SHAW CIVIL ENGINEERING PROFESSORSHIP
The John A. and Harriette K. Shaw Professorship in Civil Engineering was created to supplement departmental support for outstanding or distinquished University faculty in order to provide the holder of the professorship with the resources necessary to continue and further the scholar's contributions to teaching, research, and public service.
The endowment is named in honor of Altoona natives John A. Shaw, a 1929 civil engineering alumnus, and his wife Harriette. In addition to their professorship, the Shaws also have a scholarship in the College of Engineering, the John A. and Harriette K. Shaw Scholarship.
