Credit Usage

Majors are listed alphabetically below and grouped by type (co-op or internship). Each entry includes the name of the major, how the co-op or internship credits can be applied in that major, and the number of credits that students in that major may use for ENGR 195 (internship) or ENGR 295, ENGR 395, or ENGR 495 (co-op). NOTE: All students must be registered for at least one credit during each co-op rotation.

*Students cannot apply credits until 3 rotations are completed.

  1. A minimum of one (1) credit must be taken during each and every semester that a student is placed in a position either initiated by the Co-op & Internship Program or turned into a co-op position by the Program.
  2. Departments will accept the maximum number of credits towards degree requirements when all three (3) co-op rotations are completed (ENGR 295, ENGR 395 and ENGR 495), regardless of how many credits students choose to take each semester of their co-op.
  3. Students in ELDM or E-Ship may take up to three (3) credits each semester they are on their co-op assignment to apply towards the ELDM or E-ship minor. Refer to steps 1 and 2 above in order to use the co-op credits as a substitute for a degree requirement.

  1. One (1) credit must be taken during each and every semester that a student is placed in a position initiated by the Co-op & Internship Office. Students may complete as many as four (4) internship experiences.
  2. Students who complete more than one rotation with the same company are expected to migrate into the Co-op Program and may petition to have the ENGR 195A/I used as ENGR 295A/I for any major that accepts co-op credits.
