Finanzministerialgebäude:
Das imposante Regierungsgebäude
steht am Neustädter Ufer, das die Gestalt des Gebäudes stark
beherrscht, und die Hauptfront ist der Brühlschen Terrasse zugewandt.
1890-94 errichteten Otto Wanckel und Ottomar Reichelt den Bau im Stil
der Neurenaissance. Ein kuppelförmiges Dach bekrönt und betont den
Mittelrisalit, dessen Giebel ein großes Fliesengemälde von Anton Dietrich
verziert und sechs Säulen stützen, und leicht hervortretende Eckrisalite
begrenzen die Flügelbauten.
The imposing government building stands on the
Neustadt bank of the Elbe, which the image of the building
strongly dominates, and the main front of the building faces
the Brühlsche Terrasse. In 1890-94, Otto Wanckel and
Ottomar Reichelt constructed the building in the
neo-Renaissance genre. A cupola-forming roof surmounts
and emphasizes the central projection, whose gable, supported
by six columns, is decorated by a large tile painting, created by
Anton Dietrich. The slightly emerging corner projections mark
the ends of the wings of the building.
