Commerzbank-Hochhaus: Auf dem vom Taunustor und der Kirchnerstraße begrenzten Block steht das 1997 errichtete Hochhaus, das der britische Architekt Norman Foster entwarf. Links im oberen Bild sieht man das Hochhaus und das begleitende Gebäude der Commerzbank. 111 Pfähle, die in eine Tiefe von 50 Metern reichen, stützen den monumentalen Bau, der einen dreieckigen Grundriss hat. Auf den Pfählen steht eine 1,5 - 2,0 Meter dicke Platte, die eine Kantenlänge von 60 Meter hat. Das Hochhaus, ein Stahlskelettbau, erhebt sich über der Platte zu einer Höhe von 259 Meter; einschließlich der Antenne erreicht der Wolkenkratzer eine Höhe von ungefähr 300 Metern. On the block defined by the Taunustor and Kirchnerstraße, stands the skyscraper, built in 1997 and designed by the British architect, Norman Foster. In the upper picture, to the left, one sees the skyscraper and the accompanying building of the Commerzbank. One-hundred and eleven piles, driven 50 meters deep, support the monumental building, which has a triangular ground plan. A 1.5 - 2.0 meter thick slab, having a 60-meter perimeter, stands on the piles. The skyscraper itself, a steel-frame construction, rises over the slab to a height of 259 meters; inclusive of the antenna, the skyscraper reaches a height of about 300 meters. |
