Kaiserdom zu Speyer Dom St. Maria und St. Stephan: Unter der Führung der Kaiser Konrad II., Heinrich III. und Heinrich IV. wurde dieses große romanische Bauwerk ursprünglich um 1030-61 und 1080-1106 erbaut, und nachdem der Dom mehrmals zerstört worden war, 1772-79 und 1818-22 wieder aufgebaut. In den sechziger Jahren dieses Jahrhunderts wurde diese prächtige Sandsteinkirche renoviert. Gegenwärtig wird die Sanierung fortgesetzt, worauf das Gerüst hinweist. Die Aufnahme oben zeigt die westliche Fassade des Doms, auf die man vom Domplatz und von der Maximilianstraße hinblicken kann. Under the leadership of the Kaiser Konrad III, Heinrich III, and Heinrich IV, this great romantic-style architectural work was constructed around 1030-61 and around 1080-1106, and, after the cathedral had been destroyed several times, it was rebuilt in 1772-79 and in 1818-22. In the 1960s, this splendid church, which is made out of sandstone, was renovated. Presently, as the scaffolding indicates, the renovation is being continued.
