Vitae
Dr. Carpenter has done research in ionospheric physics and radar systems. His
specialty is microwave system design, Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC) and
Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Microwave and MMIC design of amplifiers, mixers, oscillators and dielectric
resonators has been carried out with Touchstone and Super-Compact. Analysis has been done
with Microwave Spice and layout of these circuits with MiCAD. Thick film on alumina
substrate resistor networks have been developed also.
As a Senior Staff Engineer in the Radar Laboratory, Missile Systems Group at
Hughes Aircraft during summers from 1981 to 1984 and during his Sabbatical Year 1983-1984,
he worked on millimeter wave circulators, isolators, broadband couplers and other radar
systems. He has designed coaxial connectors, microstrip delay lines, Low Noise Amplifiers
and block converters.
Dr. Carpenter has worked on automotive collision avoidance radars for 7 years.
He is currently involved with the design and development of a millimeter-wave system that
has a phased-array antenna and electrical beam steering with monopulse detection
capabilities.
Dr. Carpenter is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and has
consulted as a legal expert in electrical safety in over 20 cases. He has provided
professional reports and analysis and has testified in court. |
