| CALL FOR PAPERS
|
“Discovery consists of seeing what everyone has seen but no one has thought.” In continuation of this ingenious insight, MINDBEND 2004 is sponsored by the Engineering Graduate Student Council (EGSC) at The Pennsylvania State University to unleash the talents of budding engineers who strive hard in their research labs.
MINDBEND is intended to provide Penn State undergraduate and graduate engineering students with an opportunity to present their research at the University level through a symposium, which will serve as the perfect medium to rehearse their presentation and technical skills before facing the research community in future conferences at the national or international level.
In its very first year, MINDBEND invites all undergraduate and graduate engineering students currently enrolled at Penn State to participate in this activity by submitting a paper to introduce their research to everyone including an audience beyond their field of specialization. Authors of the selected papers will have an opportunity to present their research to a broad audience at the MINDBEND Symposium on April 7 (and possibly 8), 2004. All submissions will be included in a symposium proceedings that will be distributed during the concluding recognition ceremony.
The various areas in which papers will be invited are:
1) Acoustics
2) Aerospace Engineering
3) Architectural Engineering
4) Bioengineering
5) Chemical Engineering
6) Civil Engineering
7) Computer Science and Engineering
8) Electrical Engineering
9) Engineering Science & Mechanics
10) Environmental Engineering
11) Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering
12) Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering
Prospective authors are invited to submit a summary of their research studies (not to exceed 250 words) via the electronic form provided on the "Paper Submissions" page by February 13, 2004.
