Natural resource engineering is a strong component within the Department
of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Faculty and students
are involved with environmental research related to agriculture,
natural ecosystems, and urban/rural interface issues. Other projects
focus on the design of engineered systems to address point and non-point
source pollutants.
Faculty and student research interests span a wide variety of environmentally-related
topics including:
- nonpoint source pollution transport and
modeling
- erosion and sedimentation control
- water resource management and monitoring
- nutrient cycling in natural and constructed
wetlands
- compost management and utilization
- animal manure and biosolids utilization
- odor control
