Departments and individuals can request specific topics for special sessions throughout the year. The current schedule can be viewed at http://www.engr.psu.edu/eis/seminars.asp. New Faculty Workshops normally are held prior to the start of the Fall semester. This 2-day workshop presents teaching and learning topics to help new faculty members prepare for their teaching responsibilities and affords an opportunity to meet with their peer group. In-class Observation is available on request. EIS will provide a trained observer to attend a class meeting and give you quality feedback on your teaching and the classroom environment. Video services are also available. We can tape your class meeting and make a copy available to you in VHS or digital format. Consultation can be arranged whenever you may have a question about teaching and learning. Engineering faculty at Penn State are highly trained in their respective fields, but teaching brings its own unique challenges. EIS personnel are prepared to take the time to help you improve your teaching and your students' learning. |
