Teaching and Learning

Teaching Assistant Training

The primary source for TA training in the college is ENGR 588, a one-semester hour seminar in college teaching that is required for all new TAs.

EIS also offers orientation sessions for new TAs and graders at the beginning of each semester.  Information on both ENGR 588 and the orientation sessions is available at the office of each department.

Improving Student Learning

EIS is always available to help faculty find ways to improve student learning.  We work with faculty to conduct research testing various methods, techniques, and technologies in engineering classrooms and labs.  If you are already trying something new, we can work with you to develop an assessment that will provide useful data for you.

Consultation

Roxanne is available to consult with faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants on issues related to Teaching and Learning.  Use the online form to request a consultation or call EIS at 865-4020.  Please remember, helping you with your teaching and learning questions does not take us away from our work - it IS our work!
