Applied Ethics in Professional Practice: Case of the Month Club (Texas Tech University)
The Professional Engineering Practice Liaison Program created the Case of the Month Club in 1997.  It is now housed and maintained by the National Institute for Engineering Ethics at Texas Tech. Its purpose is to present situations taken from real professional practice in order to produce greater significance on ethical issues. It concentrates on keeping the cases easy to read so that a discussion may occur on the topics.

 

Engineering Ethics
The objective of this site is to introduce ethics case studies into required undergraduate engineering courses. It serves as a valuable resource by providing links to recent headlines, case studies, essays, and reports from the homepage. Engineers for Social Responsibility Inc.
ESR is an independent group of engineers which finds neccessity in professional engineers to be aware of the social implications that their technological development may cause. One of ESR's main goals is to educate engineering professionals, policy makers, and professionals about the positive and negative effects of technology. This site includes:

Ethics Resource Center
The Ethics Resource Center (ERC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization whose vision is an ethical world. The mission of the Ethics Resource Center is to be a leader and a catalyst in fostering ethical practices in individuals and institutions.
 
Institute for Global Ethics
The institute's goal is to promote ethical behavior in individuals, institutions, and nations through research, public discourse, and practical action.
 
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Ethics Committee
The Ethics & Member Conduct Committee advises the Board of Directors on ethics policy and concerns as well as fostering awareness on ethical issues and promoting ethical behavior amongst individuals and organizations working within the IEEE fields of interest.
 
Murdough Center for Engineering Professionalism (Texas Tech University)
The Murdough Center encourages and promotes professional programs and activities emphasizing engineering ethics. The center conducts symposia, workshops, and seminars throughout the state and nation for industry, professional societies, and academic institutions.
 

National Institute for Engineering Ethics (Texas Tech University)
NIEE is an educational corporation which aims to promote the study and application of ethics within engineering schools and professions. It was founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers. There is an entire page within this site devoted to education, including links to:

National Society of Professional Engineers
NSPE strengthens the engineering profession by promoting engineering licensure and ethics, enhancing the engineer image, advocating and protecting PEs' legal rights at the national and state levels, publishing news of the profession, providing continuing education opportunities, and much more.
 

Office of Technology Assessment

Professional Ethics Report
PER is a quarterly newsletter that reports on topics relevant to Professional Ethics issues. It especially focuses on professions concerned with scientific research and its applications.

The Online Ethics Center for Engineering and Science
The mission of OEC is to supply scientists, engineers, and students within these respective areas of study with resources for considering ethical problems that come up in their work. OEC also works to help those people who sponsor the education of conscientious research and practice in science and engineering.
