The Case of the Missing Cases
A couple of newly found friends
were getting their first taste of college life during summer
session at Penn State. Not only was summer for introducing new
students to academics, it was also for them to wet their feet
in terms of party life.
This certain group of guys had
become frequenters of one fraternity in particular, and being
so had become friends with many of the Brothers there. One night
while partying at the fraternity, the group of friends decided
to help the Brothers pass out beer. Deciding to take advantage
of the obviously drunk Brothers, the friends decided to sneak
a few cases of beer out the back door for later retrieval. One
of the friends was hesitant about the situation; however, he
felt he had few alternatives. He could go along with the crowd,
tell them what they were doing was wrong, or rat them out.
What should the individual do?
Should he go along with the crowd and honor his friendship,
try to convince his friends that what they were doing was wrong
risking their opinions of him, or tell on his friends which
my cost him their friendship completely?
