Security When Transmitting
Personal Information |
|
Whenever you enter information into one of the FFF
websites and submit it to the server, the information will be transmitted
from the location of your computer to the FFF server. Although unlikely,
it is possible for others to intercept the information on its way
from your location to our server. However, we have secured the website
where you enter your resume, making it very hard for others to view
or intercept that information when it is being transmitted. Secure
websites use an encryption process where the information is encoded
before it is sent from your computer and decoded when it reaches
its location.

Security of Stored Information
in the Database |
|
While your information is being stored in the FFF
database, it can only be viewed by authorized personnel as stated
in the About This Site section. Prior approval is always needed
to gain access to the information in the database. The database
is protected through several security measures such as firewalls,
access codes, etc.

General Information Disclosure |
|
The FFF website is designed to provide individuals access
to a national network of academic administrators and faculty who are
looking for candidates for faculty and postdoctoral positions and/or
recruiting graduate students and undergraduate researchers. By registering
your resume with FFF, you agree to release your information to these
people. This is done in two ways:
- Your registered resume is searchable on the FFF database by
authorized university and college faculty and administrators.
- The faculty, administrators and other research/teaching employers
doing such search will have the ability to contact you via e-mail
using a web-based form. Your e-mail address will not be visible
when the contact is initiated, however, you have the option of
replying the communiqué or rejecting it.
The FFF website has software in place to block any unauthorized
users, but cannot guarantee that other parties will not, without
our consent, gain access to this database.
If at anytime individuals wish to remove their resumes from the
database there are mechanisms in place to do so. Be aware, however,
that if searching potential employer have already downloaded or
printed your resume that those resumes cannot be recalled to the
FFF. Once a resume is downloaded or printed, FFF is not responsible
for the retention, use, or privacy of resumes in these instances,
or for the use or privacy of resumes by any of such parties while
resumes are in the database.
