- The Impact of Giving
Inclusive Penn State
Our belief in nurturing an inclusive environment where our students, staff, and faculty live and develop stems from the intellectual richness of diverse communities. We are challenged to improve our diversity profile at all levels and this target requires concerted effort and resources. The focus of the Inclusive Penn State fundraising thrust is to recruit and retain the best students.
Inclusive Engineering Merit Awards
We continue to strive to increase the inclusiveness of our community of students, faculty, and staff. These awards are intended for students from underrepresented groups. Offering attractive scholarships specifically for underrepresented groups of aspiring engineers will enable Penn State to have a healthier profile of our student body, support the national objective of increasing diversity in STEM, and help the nation capture additional talent and perspectives into engineering.
The Millennium Scholars Program (MSP) is a priority for Penn State, expressed in the strong support for the program by President Barron and Provost Jones. It is focused on undergraduate students from underrepresented groups who are interested in pursuing PhDs. We seek to increase the number of MSP students in engineering by providing scholarships and program support to the best and brightest students.
