Hands-on Summer Workshops
AIHI offers hands-on workshops on sustainable buiding technologies. Join a blitz-build team for an immersive hands-on experience including sustainable construction skills and cultural seminars.
Who should attend?
PSU alumni, college students, professionals, individuals, groups and organizations. All interests, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome.
Location
Workshops are held on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, Montana (95 Miles SE of Billings, MT)
Summer 2007 Program and Application
This coming summer, AIHI will be emphasizing solar energy technology in conjunction with the bi-annual Solar Decathlon project at Penn State. www.solar.psu.edu The project will be a residence for visiting faculty on the campus of Chief Dull Knife College. In the process of building, AIHI also looks to build upon knowledge and technology. Accordingly, in addition to its environmentally friendly strawbale frame, the 2007 project will also capitalize on host solar heating and energy reservation systems. Workshops will also include seminars on different aspects of green design concepts, strategies and technologies.
Workshop fee: $600.00 Nonrefundable.
Participants will be provided with food, on site transportation, and transportation to and from the Billings Airport. The experience includes camping out (a list of supplies needed will be provided) and Cheyenne cultural activities select evenings. Participants must provide for their own transportation to Billings, Montana or may drive directly to the reservation (carpools recommended.)
