Removal of CO2 in H2 Production

The production of hydrogen in fuel cells requires hydrogen that is free of impurities, including CO2.  Since CO2 is produced along with hydrogen in the reforming of fuels, it must be removed before entering the fuel cell.  We are working on selectively adsorbing CO2 from the hydrogen containing gas mixture using “molecular baskets” shown in the figure below.
