PREP Essentials






Deadline

Each candidate must provide 10 copies of his/her dossier to the College’s HR Office (101 Hammond) by 5:00 PM on May 2, 2008 .

Information Sessions

Each PREP candidate must attend one of the group information sessions.  (See Schedule)

Eligibility

Staff employees with a minimum of two years in their current position as of March 31st and who have received outstanding ratings on their two most recent Staff Review and Development Plans (SRDP) are eligible for PREP.

Each staff employee has the potential for two promotions within their current position.  PREP is separate from the Job Review process (including PIQs) under the SPEC system.  Substantial changes in job duties and responsibilities are evaluated under SPEC.

Review Committee

Seven committee members are chosen from nominations from each department/unit in the College.  The review committee has 3 non-exempt, 2 exempt, and 2 research/technical staff members.  The College’s HR Manager serves as a non-voting member.  Committee members serve two-year, staggered terms.

Dossier Format

Dossiers must be written in 3rd person, printed on standard white paper and stapled in the upper left corner.  A 12-point font is required.  The committee will not review dossiers with bindings, covers, color printing, or colored paper.  If you have questions about the format contact the HR office.

Dossier sections must appear in the following order:

Cover Page
Narrative Statement (1 page)
Two most recent SRDPs (completed in ‘07 and ‘08)
Motivation and Initiative (1 page)
Creativity and Innovations (1 page)
Quantity (1 page)
Professional Development (2 pages)
College/Department/University Service (2 pages)
Supervisor’s Evaluation Letter (1 page)
Department Head’s/Unit Leader’s Evaluation Letter (1 page)
