 Note:  In promotion cases in which the candidate worked elsewhere and/or received tenure elsewhere, only service performed while at Penn State should be listed.  Dates for specific activities must be included.



Service to the University

Examples include: committee work at any level, governing bodies such as the Faculty Senate, administrative support work, contributions to the University's programs to enhance equal opportunity and cultural diversity, assisting or advising student organizations, etc.

 

Service to Society 

 Only activities using the Candidate's professional expertise may be listed.
Examples include: participation in community affairs, service to local, state, or Federal agencies, service to business and industry, service to public and private organizations, service to citizen/client groups, testifying as an expert witness, etc.

 

        Services to the Disciplines and to the Profession

Service to the Candidate's profession (such as committee work, organizing conferences and service to conference, and active participation in professional and learned societies, including offices held) should be reported in this section.

Activities in which there was significant use of the candidate's expertise should be reported in section II.E (such as consulting, paper reviewing, and editorships).
